I want an influence held still.

A binding asks one thing: that something stop moving. It does not banish, punish or send anything anywhere. It holds still, and then closes the thread so what was held stays that way.

Knot magic is among the oldest recorded forms of it, and the freezer working is its modern descendant — used to pause interference, a rumour or a plan rather than to do anything to whoever set it going. Practitioners have drawn that line for a long time and it is a sensible place for it.

Choose a binding when you do not want a thing gone so much as stopped. An influence spreading through a group. A behaviour that keeps advancing. A plan cooling before it moves.

All of it is symbolic and none of it acts on a person. A binding restrains an influence within your own intention, claims no effect on anyone, and never asks for anything that would identify a real individual.
