A jinx is the lightest working in this catalog. It nudges luck and it reaches no further than that, which is exactly why it has survived as a folk form: small, quick, and easy to repeat when it matters.

The daily jinx has no name and no target attached to it. It is set loose for the day, lands where it lands, and expires by morning. The pointed ones are aimed at a streak rather than a person — the run of easy fortune somebody has been having at your expense.

The rest of this group works on situations. A roadblock closes a path a plan was going to use. A fog takes the clear line of sight out of something so it takes longer to see through. Nothing breaks; things simply stop being easy.

Everything here is symbolic and no outcome is claimed, at all, for anyone. These rituals touch a path, a streak or a line of sight, and never a person's body, health or safety.

If what you actually want is distance, the banishing rituals are the more honest tool.
